Meeting between President of Philippines and Abdullah bin Zayed in Manila
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. of the Philippines welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Malacañang Palace in Manila. First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos also attended the meeting.
During their discussion, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Marcos, wishing progress and prosperity for the Philippines. In return, President Marcos extended his greetings and appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasizing the strong relations between the two countries.
The meeting, part of Sheikh Abdullah’s working visit to Manila, focused on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and the Philippines for mutual benefit. They discussed the progress of their 50-year diplomatic relations and cooperation within international organizations.
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the UAE’s desire for stronger relations with the Philippines to support both countries’ development plans. He mentioned efforts towards a comprehensive economic partnership agreement to boost cooperation in trade and investment.
The Minister expressed gratitude for the Filipino community in the UAE, recognizing their support for the country’s development across various sectors. The meeting was also attended by the UAE Ambassador to the Philippines and the Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs.
The discussions underscored the shared commitment to expanding cooperation and fostering growth between the UAE and the Philippines.
