Fourth shipment of aid for Gaza arrives at Al Arish Port with 5,340 tonnes of supplies
The UAE Continues to Support Gaza with Fourth Aid Ship
In a continued effort to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, the UAE has sent its fourth aid ship to the region. The ship arrived at the port of Arish in the Egyptian governorate of North Sinai on Thursday, where its cargo will be transferred into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing in coordination with Egyptian authorities.
This aid shipment is part of Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3,” a humanitarian initiative launched by the UAE to assist the people of Gaza during their ongoing struggles. The ship departed from the port of Fujairah in the UAE on July 8 and is the eighth aid ship sent by the UAE to Gaza. It is also the largest in terms of cargo and diversity of contents.
The vessel is carrying a total of 5,340 tonnes of relief and food supplies, including 4,134 tonnes of food parcels, 145 tonnes of rice and flour, 110 tonnes of water, 4,000 tents, health packages for women and children, sun, wind, and dust-resistant covers, and relief bags. The aid was provided by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and transported by 313 trucks.
Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the ERC, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza in their time of need. He stated, “Since the beginning of the difficult circumstances experienced by our Palestinian brothers, the UAE has continued to fulfil its humanitarian and relief role in helping them by all available means. This is in accordance with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the aim of alleviating the severity of the humanitarian conditions suffered by our brothers in the Gaza Strip.”
The arrival of the fourth aid ship marks a significant milestone in Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3,” as it provides essential aid to address various needs of the Palestinians in Gaza. In addition to the aid shipments, the UAE has launched several initiatives as part of the operation, including the establishment of field hospitals, automatic bakeries, and desalination plants to provide assistance and essential services to the people of Gaza.
Most recently, the Joint Operations Command launched Operation “Birds of Goodness” to airdrop humanitarian aid to isolated areas in the northern Gaza Strip that are inaccessible by land. The UAE’s efforts in Gaza demonstrate its ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and providing essential aid in times of crisis.
As the aid ship unloads its cargo in Gaza, the UAE’s continued support serves as a lifeline for those facing hardships in the region. The arrival of the fourth aid shipment is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian efforts and solidarity with the people of Gaza during difficult times.
