BMW becomes the official luxury car partner of SWISS Airlines

BMW has teamed up with Swiss International Airlines (SWISS) as their new “Premium Limousine” partner, introducing the fully electric BMW i7 xDrive60 to elevate the SWISS Premium Service. This collaboration aims to provide passengers of SWISS and Lufthansa Group with the ultimate in comfort and efficiency as they travel to and from airport terminals in Switzerland.

The service is currently operating at Zurich Airport, where a fleet of ten BMW i7 limousines are on standby to cater to passengers, as well as at Geneva Airport, which features a dedicated BMW i7 limousine. Sergio Solero, President & CEO of BMW (Switzerland) AG, emphasized the shared values of BMW and SWISS in their commitment to sustainable and customer-oriented product and service quality, as well as their focus on future-oriented mobility and innovations.

Dennis Weber, CFO of SWISS, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating that the collaboration with BMW is a significant step towards achieving CO2-free ground operations by 2030. Additionally, he noted that utilizing the luxury BMW limousine allows them to exceed the expectations of their First Class guests and HON Circle members.

In the initial images released of this partnership, a sleek fleet of ten black BMW i7 xDrive60s was showcased at Zurich Airport, along with an i7 at Geneva Airport. These two airports collectively handle a substantial number of flight movements and passengers annually, emphasizing the impact and value of this exclusive service.

Although the BMW i7 offering is exclusive, only available to first-class passengers and HON Circle guests within the Lufthansa Group, this partnership showcases BMW’s commitment to providing premium experiences for air travelers. In a similar move, Malaysia Airlines recently introduced an exclusive private terminal transfer service for its passengers in collaboration with BMW Group Malaysia and their dealer partner, Ingress Auto Sdn. Bhd., demonstrating a trend of luxury automotive brands enhancing the travel experience for airline passengers.

Looking back to 2020, Emirates Airlines also offered a luxurious service in Dubai where business class passengers were chauffeured through the airport in a BMW 5 Series. This partnership between luxury automakers and airlines continues to grow, providing passengers with enhanced comfort and convenience during their travel experiences.

As the automotive industry continues to shift towards electric and sustainable solutions, the introduction of the fully electric BMW i7 xDrive60 as part of the SWISS Premium Service represents a step towards eco-friendly travel solutions. This collaboration not only enhances the travel experience for passengers but also aligns with the global push towards sustainability and innovation in mobility.

Overall, the partnership between BMW and SWISS signifies a commitment to luxury, sustainability, and innovation in the travel industry. By providing passengers with access to premium electric limousines, both companies are setting a new standard for ground transportation services at airports in Switzerland, creating a seamless and luxurious travel experience for their valued customers.
