‘Azerbaijan and UAE explore collaboration on climate initiatives’
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, recently engaged in a phone conversation to discuss bilateral relations between their countries and strategies to enhance them. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the officials reviewed the results of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Azerbaijan in January, highlighting its role in advancing cooperation in various areas.
The conversation also focused on potential collaboration in economic, investment, trade, development, and renewable energy sectors. Additionally, they addressed cooperation in climate-related initiatives, particularly with Azerbaijan set to host the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku in November 2024.
Sheikh Abdullah extended his well wishes to Azerbaijan for hosting the significant global event. He emphasized the strong and deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan, underscoring both countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation for mutual benefit and the well-being of their people.
