Alum visits campus after receiving humanitarian award
Deana Uppal, an award-winning humanitarian alum, recently visited the campus of the University of Wolverhampton. She is a filmmaker, director, producer, model, actress, philanthropist, and entrepreneur who actively supports the university’s success. During her visit, she met with Vice-Chancellor Ebrahim Adia, participated in a press photoshoot, and was excited to see her feature displays in the institution’s alumni marketing campaign both on campus and around the city of Wolverhampton.
The campaign aims to raise the profile of the university by highlighting six accomplished alumni from around the world, showcasing the range of exciting careers and lifestyles that a University of Wolverhampton qualification can lead to. Deana, who received a Prime Minister’s Point of Light Award in 2023, expressed her gratitude for seeing her photo displayed across her hometown and on billboards, calling it a touching and humbling experience.
Prior to her visit to England, Deana took the time to participate in the campaign in Dubai, where she resides, through a photoshoot, a video, and an interview. Her story of triumph through difficult circumstances serves as an inspiring and uplifting message for those considering a successful future as a student at the University of Wolverhampton.
