The Ministry of Culture Wraps Up Successful Fifth Edition of Summer Camp in Umm Al Qaiwain

The Ministry of Culture recently concluded its highly anticipated fifth edition of the Summer Camp in Umm Al Qaiwain, which ran throughout the month of July. The Summer Camp aimed to provide valuable training and capacity-building opportunities for community members of all ages, with a focus on enhancing knowledge, strengthening national identity, and fostering stronger cultural bonds. The ultimate goal was to empower participants to contribute meaningfully to the future prosperity of the UAE.

The grand finale of the Summer Camp took place at the Umm Al Quwain Creative Cultural Centre, with the event attended by distinguished guests including Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Finance of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Mubarak Al Nakhi, the Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Culture, among other key figures.

With an impressive turnout of over 18,500 participants, the Summer Camp succeeded in engaging individuals from all walks of life, ranging from six years old to senior citizens. The event featured a total of 427 programs, highlighting the talents of 223 individuals and offering 56 comprehensive developmental activities to help enhance participants’ skills. The entire program was executed with the support of 165 trainers and volunteers, who worked closely with 287 partner organizations to create a diverse and enriching experience for all involved.

In a statement following the conclusion of the Summer Camp, Mubarak Al Nakhi expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to reaching various segments of society and providing them with a well-rounded knowledge platform. The comprehensive program and wide array of activities offered during the Summer Camp were designed to support participants’ personal development and enrich their knowledge base, drawing from experiences and insights gained from previous editions.

Al Nakhi further emphasized the importance of investing in individuals’ capabilities through platforms like the Summer Camp, which not only enhance awareness and talents but also play a crucial role in building a strong national identity and fostering a deeper connection to heritage. The Summer Camp 2024 showcased a diverse range of artistic, knowledge-based, cultural, and heritage programs across various cultural centers in the Emirates. Participants had the opportunity to engage with activities at centers in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Abu Dhabi, each offering a unique and enriching experience tailored to the community’s needs.
