New Japan Visa Services Now Available for Residents of the UAE

The bustling cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates now have Japan visa application centers operational as of August 1, 2024. This exciting development comes as a result of VFS Global partnering with the Embassy of Japan in the UAE and the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai to provide a convenient and efficient visa application process for UAE residents.

These new centers will accept document submissions for both short-term and long-term visas to Japan by prior appointment. The appointments can be easily booked online at no charge, making the process hassle-free for travelers. Additionally, starting from September 1, 2024, travelers eligible for e-visas to Japan will also be able to apply for tourist e-visas at these centers, further streamlining the visa application process.

The opening of these visa application centers is part of a larger push to boost tourism to Japan. Imanishi Jun, the Consul General of Japan to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, emphasized the Japanese government’s goal of increasing the number of foreign visitors to Japan to 60 million by 2030. With the number of visitors to Japan on the rise, the partnership between VFS Global and the Consulate General of Japan in Dubai aims to facilitate the visa application process to encourage more people to visit the stunning destination.

According to Jun, the Consulate General of Japan in Dubai recognized the need to respond to the increasing number of visa applications and decided to collaborate with VFS Global to address this challenge efficiently. Monaz Bilimoria, the regional head of VFS Global, highlighted the longstanding relationship between VFS Global and the Government of Japan since 2010 and expressed excitement about expanding this partnership further. The new centers are expected to cater to the growing demand for travel to Japan and enhance the customer experience by making the visa application process smoother and more seamless.

The Japan visa application centers are conveniently located at WAFI Mall, Level 2, Falcon Phase 2, Umm Hurair 2, Dubai; and Level B2 (Lower Ground), The Mall, World Trade Centre, Khalifa Bin Zayed The 1st Street, Abu Dhabi. These strategic locations ensure easy access for residents of both cities looking to apply for visas to Japan.

In a rapidly evolving global landscape, initiatives like the opening of Japan visa application centers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai reflect the commitment to enhancing travel experiences and fostering international relations. As more travelers seek to explore the beauty and culture of Japan, these centers will undoubtedly serve as crucial facilitators in enabling seamless travel arrangements.
